One Life is in the process of relocating to better serve our clients. Our new location is 1801 Daniels St Vancouver, Wa 98660. We expect to be closed for a month or two during
our renovation. Harvest Share will resume on June 24th with the distribution of fresh produce at our new location.

Our mission is to provide food, educational services, counseling, coaching,
training, and other resources to at risk youth, individuals and families in order to break cycles of poverty and build healthy futures.
It’s also to serve our at risk community with love, acceptance, respect, dignity and compassion. As well as facilitating access to social
services for those who are at risk of poverty in our community by partnering with other governmental, community, nonprofit or educational
agencies in Clark County Washington.

To see lives in our community, freed from poverty, one life at a time.
- ONE LIFE is a non-profit charitable community service organization that
serves at risk youth, individuals and families in Clark County Washington.
We believe it’s about social justice, ending hunger, providing education,
helping people become free from poverty and seeing every person treated with the respect and dignity they deserve. We want to give generously out
of what we have to those who have not. We want to be known as a place that really cares about the individual. Where we hear each person’s story and
we listen more than talk. An organization where we see past the exterior and the circumstances in people’s lives, but instead focus on the potential
destiny that is in each one of us, and helping meet the needs of an individual one life at a time.
As Mother Teresa put it “We think sometimes that poverty is only being hungry, naked and homeless. The poverty of being unwanted, unloved and
uncared for is the greatest poverty". Our greatest joy is to see lives transformed out of poverty by compassion, acceptance, respect,
service and love.
- From July 2010 to July 2011 375,482 people ate meals from an emergency food box.
- 38% of those receiving food are children.
- Our poverty rate surged to 12.7% in 2010 according to the latest U.S. Census Bureau report.
- Unemployment remains very high.
- Cuts to government safety net programs have increased the need on organizations like ONE LIFE.
- Dear Friends of One Life,
Last year ONE LIFE was able to provide emergency food boxes to 2,670 households (10,258 people) in Clark County. Our Harvest Share program
provided fresh produce to over 877 households (2,575 people). Through these two programs in 2012, ONE LIFE gave away 191,820 pounds of food.
We also had our organic garden again this year that provided “fresh from the vine” produce for our clients who receive emergency food
boxes.
In 2012, we were also able to offer free to our community two six-week nutrition education classes, including new this year a class for
parents and children, as well as helping our clients sign up for DSHS benefits and providing access to other resources in the community.
In 2012 we saw some exciting changes to our Emergency Food Box program. Our clients are now able to shop our pantry and choose the items they
would like to eat. This addition has cut down on food waste and allowed our clients to have access to more food that others might not want.
We also have been providing healthy recipes and tastings on Sundays. We have found that providing samples of healthy recipes that they get to
eat, increases the chances that they will take the recipe provided and cook it for their family at home. We purposely pick recipes that feature
items we have in the back so that the clients can choose them when the shop. With obesity on the rise, we feel that providing education and
access to fresh fruits and vegetables will help our clients lead healthier lives.
Thank you so much for partnering with us to make a difference in the lives of families in our community. Without your support we would not be
able to do the work that we do. All moneys received our tax deductible. Donations can be accepted on our website, our Facebook page,
through the United Way or by mail. We look forward to partnering again with you in 2013.
